Over 50 Years of Industrial History

Dudley Tool was established over 50 years ago by Ted Millard.

Born in Dudley in 1929, Ted gained his Tool Making apprenticeship whilst in the RAF during a period of National Service. It was through his love of racing cars that he then found his way into precision engineering who, along with his brother, built and raced cars for many years.

As a young man his other love was Sport, he was successful sprinter for Tipton Harriers which eventually led him into playing rugby for Dudley Kingswinford RFC.

Formed in 1965 and located in central Dudley, the business moved to Holly Hall area of Dudley in 1973 and continued to expand, eventually leading to a move in 1980 to a purpose built factory in Stourbridge, where the business is still located.

Dudley Tool was awarded it’s first registration in 1991 BSI registration to ISO 9001:2000 in 2003. (Pictured is John and David Millard).

Purchased land at Mill Street Wordsley in 1979. Completion of purpose built 20,000 sq.ft factory.

1998. Powder Coating plant added to factory. Bringing 95% of Powder Coating in-house.

We are very proud or our Black Country roots and equally proud to still be manufacturing within the UK, we firmly believe in British manufacturing creating British jobs.

We are situated at the heart of the Black Country, the birth place of the Industrial Revolution, where there is still a rich vein of skilled men and women, who still drive many traditional businesses forward with their enthusiasm, knowledge and hard work to compete worldwide.
